REMAP-cheLA AI Confabulation

Following a very engaging online meeting with Mira Winick, Chris Wegemer, and the cheLA team to explore the focus of the REMAP <-> cheLA AI Confabulation, here are the initial trigger ideas guiding the dialogue and activities:

• Creative Potential & Technological Dependency: Does AI have the potential to empower new forms of collective creativity in media and performance? What are the risks? How do we deal with the increased layers of dependency on centralized forms of technological production and hegemonic tech multinationals?
• Local Perspectives: What forms of locally specific approaches to AI are emerging and available for productive exploration?
• Technological Sovereignty: Is there such a thing as technological -and specifically AI- sovereignty in the creative sphere?
• Educational Impact: How does AI-based collective creativity impact education? How can AI-based collective creativity processes be integrated into art education (theater and media specifically)?

These questions serve as a starting point to define the thematic and creative framework for the gathering, engaging local and international artists, researchers, and creators. Beyond this event, this initiative is envisioned as a first step toward revitalizing and launching a new phase in the ongoing collaboration between cheLA and REMAP.
